I create handmade prints inspired by the natural world around me, from the chickens in our orchard to the local flora and fauna found here in Mallorca.
Although I first tried printmaking in A-level art, my current journey started with linoprinting. It’s still my preferred technique, thanks to its accessibility and the satisfaction that carving through soft lino gives (and it smells lovely, too!).
I’m also trying out other relief, intaglio and surface methods. So far, these include screenprinting, mokuhanga (Japanese woodcut) and collagraph. While I have a relief press at home, I go to a local studio for access to an etching press.
As a kitchen-table printer with children around (and a wish to protect the environment), I’m interested in safer printing techniques that can be carried out within a limited space and using compact equipment.
